After seven years of running the Villa, first with my ex-husband Richard then on my own, I have decided to hire property managers to look after its day to day operations. Those of you who have stayed here before are going to love Joe & Robin. Hip, witty and knowledgable about the area, I couldn't have asked for a cooler couple to take over the reigns. If you're new to the Villa experience, I believe you'll find this duo to be fantastic hosts. I'll still be on the property now and then to check up on things, and always available via email if you'd like to drop a line. AUTO
From NYC
Travel time: 1 hour 45 minutes. Distance: 100 miles.
Take the George Washington Bridge to the Palisades Parkway North. Get off at the I-87/I-287 W Exit (Exit 9W) towards Albany. Merge onto New York State Thruway North and follow until you reach the Saugerties Exit (Exit 20). Turn left at the first light after the toll booth. Before reaching the next intersection in front of the Hess Gas Station, veer right onto 32 North. Take 32 North four miles to Fawn Road. Fawn Road is the first left after the Canine Country Club (also on the left). Follow Fawn for 1/4 of a mile just beyond the fork of Fawn and Clark Van Vlierden Roads. The Villa at Saugerties is the Mediterranean-style house on the left. Parking is back near the barn.
From Massachusetts
Massachusetts Turnpike (90) to New York State Thruway (87). Head south on 87 to Saugerties, Exit 20. After toll booth turn right onto Route 32 North (you will pass a Comfort Inn on the right hand side of the road). From 32 North follow directions from above.
From Pennsylvania
Interstate 84 to New York State Thruway (87). Head north on 87 to Exit 20. From Exit 20 follow directions above.
BUS
From Manhattan
Trailways Bus service leaves from Grand Central Station and takes you to Woodstock. Travel time is about three hours and you'll have to rent a car once you're in town (the Villa is seven miles from Woodstock).
RAIL
Take Amtrak to Rhinecliff (15 miles east) or MetroNorth commuter service to Poughkeepsie. Then rent a car and take the New York State Thruway to Exit 20. From Exit 20 follow directions above.
SKY

NYC airports (2 to 2.5 hours south)
Kingston Airport provides local small plane service and is about 20 miles south.
